A growing specialty coatings manufacturer in the Upper Midwest has an immediate opening for a Coatings Formulation Chemist to join its technical team.

This company operates at the intersection of specialty coatings, custom formulation, and contract manufacturing , supporting a wide variety of technical challenges across multiple product lines and customer applications.

This is NOT a narrow, highly specialized R&D role.

This is NOT a “sit in a lab and formulate all day” opportunity.

This IS a highly visible technical role where you’ll help support formulation, manufacturing, troubleshooting, customer needs, and product development inside a fast-moving specialty coatings manufacturing environment.

What we’re looking for

• BS or MS in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• Real-world, practical bench experience in paints and coatings (for real)
• Strong troubleshooting ability
• Hands-on mentality
• Comfort working in a manufacturing environment
• Strong communication skills
• Someone who enjoys solving problems and wearing multiple hats

Equally important, we’re looking for someone with grit, adaptability, and a strong figure-it-out mindset .
