Cobol Mainframe ( IBM Db2 )

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer with strong COBOL Mainframe expertise to support and maintain critical business applications. You will investigate and resolve technical issues, monitor system health, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system stability and reliable business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application and system issues.
• Provide application support for COBOL Mainframe environments.
• Analyze logs, system outputs, and error reports to identify root causes.
• Monitor system health and proactively identify potential issues.
• Support batch processing and troubleshoot complex software issues.
• Collaborate with technical and cross-functional teams to improve system performance and reliability.
• Document troubleshooting findings, solutions, and procedures for knowledge sharing.
• Participate actively in team discussions and contribute to technical solutions.
• Develop expertise in supported applications and serve as a subject matter expert (SME).
• Help ensure minimal disruption to business operations through timely issue resolution.

Required Skills

• Expert proficiency in COBOL Mainframe
• Strong understanding of mainframe environments and batch processing
• Experience in application debugging and troubleshooting
• Ability to analyze logs and system outputs
• Knowledge of system monitoring and performance troubleshooting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and collaboration skills

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with IBM Db2
• Experience with IBM IMS Database
• Familiarity with performance tuning techniques
• Experience supporting enterprise or mission-critical applications

Work Details

• Work Setup: Hybrid
• Shift: Mid Shift, 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Onsite Requirement: 2 days per week
• Project Location: Uptown 2
• Work Hours: 45 hours per week
• Employment Type: Full-time
