Coding Specialist

Description:

We are seeking a Contract or In Person Coding Specialist located in Louisiana to join our team at The Baton Rouge Clinic. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate coding for medical records and billing, contributing directly to our commitment to quality healthcare. The position is contract-1099 and works with medical staff and reimbursement department in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding of services performed by the providers in a multi-specialty clinic setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding for diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign appropriate codes using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations and guidelines related to medical coding.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures as needed.
• Assist in the management of medical billing processes and collections.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding practices, regulations, and technologies

*Position can be Contract (1099) or In Person*

Requirements:

Education:

• CPC (Certified Professional Coder)

Licenses/Certifications:

• CPC or CCS certification required
• AAPC-CPC or AHIMA-CCS certification

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Applicant must be located in Louisiana

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
