Coffee Barista

Job Summary

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is seeking a friendly, dependable, and energetic Coffee Barista to join the café team. The ideal candidate will prepare quality coffee and specialty beverages, provide welcoming service to guests, operate the POS system, maintain a clean coffee bar, and support smooth daily café operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service.
• Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and specialty drinks according to café standards.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment safely.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and process cash and card payments accurately.
• Answer questions about coffee, beverages, menu items, and available options.
• Maintain consistent beverage quality, presentation, and portion standards.
• Keep the coffee bar, counters, tables, and service areas clean and organized.
• Clean and sanitize coffee equipment, utensils, workstations, and preparation areas.
• Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids, food items, and other café supplies.
• Assist with preparing and serving pastries, snacks, and other café items as needed.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Monitor supplies and communicate inventory needs to management.
• Support team members during busy service periods.
• Assist with opening, closing, and daily café cleaning duties.
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by café management.

Requirements

• Previous barista, café, restaurant, or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of coffee and beverage preparation.
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment.
• Good attention to detail and beverage quality.
• Basic POS and cash-handling experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and café standards.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café tasks.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Previous espresso and specialty coffee preparation experience.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
