Coffee Roaster

Job Summary

Enchanted Coffee LA is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and coffee-focused Coffee Roaster to support coffee roasting and production operations. The ideal candidate will assist with roasting green coffee, monitoring roast profiles, maintaining equipment, organizing coffee inventory, and maintaining consistent quality from production through packaging.

This position is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in specialty coffee who enjoys hands-on production work and takes pride in consistency, quality, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Roast green coffee according to established roast profiles and quality standards.
• Monitor roasting temperatures, timing, airflow, and other production variables.
• Operate commercial coffee roasting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Record roast data and maintain accurate production and batch records.
• Inspect roasted coffee for consistency, appearance, aroma, and overall quality.
• Assist with cupping, tasting, and basic quality-control procedures.
• Weigh, portion, and organize green and roasted coffee as directed.
• Assist with coffee packaging, labeling, and product preparation.
• Maintain clean and organized roasting, production, and storage areas.
• Clean and perform routine maintenance on roasters, grinders, and related equipment.
• Monitor green coffee and packaging inventory and report supply needs.
• Assist with receiving, moving, and properly storing coffee shipments.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and production procedures.
• Communicate equipment issues, quality concerns, or production problems to management.
• Work closely with baristas, production staff, and management to support coffee operations.
• Assist with opening, closing, and other daily production duties.
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by management.

Requirements

• Previous coffee roasting, specialty coffee, café, or food-production experience is preferred.
• Basic understanding of coffee roasting and green coffee is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
• Ability to follow roast profiles, recipes, procedures, and production standards.
• Ability to operate production equipment safely.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine physical tasks.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move moderate loads when required.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
