Job Summary

The Empire Cafe is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and dependable Coffee Roaster to roast coffee beans, develop consistent flavor profiles, and maintain high standards of coffee quality. The ideal candidate should have a passion for coffee, knowledge of roasting techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in a cafe production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Roast green coffee beans according to established recipes and roasting profiles
• Operate and monitor coffee roasting equipment safely and efficiently
• Track roasting times, temperatures, and other roasting variables
• Evaluate roasted coffee for aroma, flavor, color, and consistency
• Adjust roasting profiles to maintain and improve coffee quality
• Monitor green coffee inventory and report supply requirements
• Store, label, and organize coffee beans according to quality standards
• Record roasting batches and maintain accurate production logs
• Clean and maintain roasting equipment and work areas
• Follow workplace safety, quality control, and sanitation standards

Requirements

• Previous Coffee Roaster, Barista, or specialty coffee experience preferred
• Knowledge of coffee beans, roasting techniques, and flavor profiles
• Strong attention to detail and product consistency
• Good organizational and record-keeping skills
• Ability to operate equipment safely and follow procedures
• Reliable, professional, and willing to learn
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
