Coffee Roaster

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Coffee Roaster to join our vibrant team. Duties

• Operate and monitor coffee roasting equipment to achieve desired roast levels while maintaining optimal machine performance.
• Prepare and load green coffee beans into roasting machines, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed.
• Conduct quality checks throughout the roasting process, including color, aroma, and temperature assessments.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment, work areas, and tools in accordance with food safety standards such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues with roasting machinery promptly to minimize downtime and ensure consistent production.
• Follow manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols diligently during all phases of production.
• Handle materials safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or material handling tools, including heavy lifting when necessary.
• Document production data accurately, including batch records, temperature logs, and quality control reports.
• Adhere to regulatory and legal compliance standards related to food production, safety, and workplace environment.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of food handling, processing, and preparation techniques specific to coffee roasting.
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills for roasting equipment and related machinery.
• Experience with machine operation, manual handling, and basic math for precise measurements during roasting processes.
• Familiarity with sanitation practices, GMP standards, HACCP principles, and food safety management systems.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently.
• Culinary or food preparation background is a plus.
• Understanding of manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety standards in production environments.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with problem-solving skills to address equipment issues quickly.
• Commitment to safety protocol adherence, PPE use, and regulatory compliance in a food manufacturing setting.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 19.0 – 40.0 per week
