Coffee Shop Assistant

Job Summary

Thousand Hills Coffee is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Coffee Shop Assistant to support daily café operations. This role involves assisting customers, preparing and serving beverages and food items, processing orders, maintaining clean work areas, and helping the café team provide efficient service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, professional service.
• Take customer orders accurately and process payments using the point-of-sale system.
• Assist with preparing and serving coffee, tea, specialty beverages, and café menu items.
• Help customers with menu questions and product selections.
• Maintain clean and organized counters, tables, service areas, and workstations.
• Restock coffee, beverage, food, packaging, and service supplies as needed.
• Prepare ingredients and supplies for daily café operations.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Ensure customer orders are accurate and served promptly.
• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Monitor supplies and communicate inventory needs to supervisors.
• Support baristas and other team members during busy service periods.
• Respond to customer questions and concerns politely and professionally.
• Help maintain a welcoming, organized, and comfortable café environment.
• Perform other café support and customer service duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous coffee shop, café, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, reliable, and customer-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
