Job Overview

George Howell Coffee is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Coffee Shop Associate to support daily café operations. This role provides excellent customer service, prepares coffee and beverages, maintains a clean service area, handles transactions, and helps create a welcoming coffee shop experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Take customer orders and process transactions accurately.
• Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other café items according to company standards.
• Explain menu items and assist customers with product selections.
• Operate POS systems and handle cash and approved payment methods.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked service areas.
• Restock coffee, beverages, food items, cups, and other supplies.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and beverage preparation procedures.
• Maintain equipment and report maintenance or supply issues.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and daily café operations.
• Work with team members to maintain efficient customer service during busy periods.
• Support product displays, merchandising, and café promotions as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous coffee shop, café, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Friendly, professional, and dependable.
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable learning beverage preparation and POS procedures.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
• Ability to follow food safety and company procedures.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
