Job Summary

Foxtail Coffee - Society Atlanta is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Coffee Shop Associate to join our café team. We are looking for someone who enjoys serving customers, preparing quality beverages, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests.

This position is ideal for an enthusiastic team member who can handle customer orders, assist with coffee and specialty beverage preparation, and keep café operations running smoothly. Previous coffee shop experience is helpful, but candidates with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and process payments using the point-of-sale system.
• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, matcha, cold brew, and specialty beverages according to established procedures.
• Assist with serving pastries, breakfast items, and other café offerings.
• Help prepare gelato and affogato orders according to menu standards.
• Answer questions about menu items and make recommendations based on customer preferences.
• Maintain clean and organized counters, tables, equipment, and service stations.
• Restock coffee beans, milk, cups, lids, syrups, and other supplies.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures.
• Support opening and closing tasks and assist coworkers during busy periods.
• Communicate customer concerns, inventory needs, and operational issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Friendly attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Previous café, coffee shop, restaurant, or retail experience preferred but not required.
• Interest in learning coffee preparation and specialty beverages.
• Ability to operate a POS system and handle transactions accurately.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced café environment.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Availability for scheduled shifts, including weekends when needed.

Foxtail Coffee - Society Atlanta is a neighborhood café in Midtown Atlanta, near Georgia Tech. The café serves specialty coffee, espresso drinks, tea, matcha, pastries, and other café favorites. This location also offers gelato, affogato pairings, and beer and wine. The team focuses on quality beverages, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere for customers who want to meet, study, or relax.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
