Café Cook

We are looking for a dependable, organized, and energetic Café Cook / Kitchen Team Member to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing fresh, simple food in a small-kitchen environment and takes pride in keeping their workspace clean, organized, and running smoothly.

Our coffee shop does not operate a full-service kitchen, so this is a light cooking and food-preparation position rather than a traditional restaurant line-cook role. Our kitchen team works closely with our baristas to provide guests with delicious food and drinks along with friendly, efficient service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items such as breakfast sandwiches, omelets, quiche, and other café-style foods
• Prepare house-made syrups, sauces, and other ingredients according to our recipes
• Complete daily food prep and portion ingredients for service
• Follow recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper storage
• Maintain appropriate food temperatures and follow safe food-handling practices
• Keep prep areas, cooking equipment, counters, sinks, and kitchen surfaces clean and sanitized
• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment throughout the shift
• Properly label, date, rotate, and store food and ingredients
• Assist with monitoring kitchen inventory and communicate when ingredients or supplies are running low
• Restock ingredients and kitchen supplies as needed
• Help minimize food waste by following proper portioning and storage procedures
• Complete opening and/or closing kitchen duties as scheduled
• Maintain a clean, organized refrigerator, freezer, and food-storage area
• Follow all Coffee28 cleanliness, sanitation, and food-safety standards
• Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining food quality and accuracy
• Communicate and work closely with baristas and other team members to keep orders moving smoothly
• Assist with other café and kitchen duties as needed

• Experienced in food preparation or cooking preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn

Compensation

Hourly pay + shared tips

Kitchen team members participate in tip sharing with the barista team.
