Coffee Shop Service Associate

Job Summary

Segundo Coffee Lab is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Coffee Shop Service Associate to support daily café operations and deliver a welcoming experience for every guest. This role involves assisting customers, handling orders, preparing and serving beverages, supporting food service, maintaining cleanliness, and keeping café supplies organized.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide courteous, professional service.
• Take coffee, beverage, and food orders accurately.
• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and specialty beverages according to established procedures.
• Assist with preparing and serving pastries, snacks, and other café menu items.
• Ensure orders are accurate, complete, and presented properly.
• Answer customer questions about menu items and help guests make selections.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and process customer payments as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized counters, tables, service stations, and workspaces.
• Clean coffee machines, grinders, beverage equipment, utensils, and service tools according to established procedures.
• Restock coffee beans, milk, cups, lids, napkins, sweeteners, and other café supplies.
• Assist with ingredient preparation and service station setup.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
• Communicate customer requests, supply shortages, and service concerns to supervisors.
• Coordinate with coworkers to ensure timely order preparation and service.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and general café duties.
• Handle beverages, food items, equipment, and supplies carefully and responsibly.
• Help maintain consistent beverage quality and a positive customer experience.
• Perform other coffee shop service and support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous coffee shop, café, restaurant, food service, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn coffee preparation techniques and café procedures.
• Good attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety practices.
