Cold End Process Engineer

About the role

The Cold End Process Engineer focuses primarily on the curing oven, line drive, cooling zone, cutting equipment, facing equipment, grecon, van-domelle, mixing chamber, aquasys system, roll-up and packaging equipment, product development. The role participates within and beyond department boundaries; works effectively with Corporate Engineering/R&D, Plant Engineering and Production Department to develop process improvements and resolve product/technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all products are manufactured to the required quality standards and in strict accordance with approved recipes
• Manage the Curing process to ensure optimal process parameters are established and consistently adhere to
• Ensure all product ranges have validated with current recipes
• Manage packaging inventory including stock control and life expectancy
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the correlation between product specifications and equipment settings
• Manage and maintain the Grecon system and ensure that all products have accurate and validated recipes
• Perform technical analysis of manufacturing/process data and apply findings to drive process improvement and meet customer expectations
• Develop and manage cutting and facing equipment ensuring all machinery is well-maintained in good working conditions and capable of producing quality output
• Oversee all packaging operations, including roll-up machines, auto-loader, master baggers and labelling equipment
• Continuously develop and recommend initiatives to enhance manufacturing capability and efficiency through new ideas, methods and technologies

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Ceramic Engineering or related field
• Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Process/Manufacturing Engineering in a similar environment
• Experience in a similar industry (glass/insulation) highly preferred
• Knowledge of mechanics, as related to packaging equipment
• Good communication skill in English
• Knowledge of product development
• Knowledge of machinery and its design/use
• Knowledge of large, industrial equipment
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools such as Lean Six Sigma
• Problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, organizational skills and project management skills
