SUMMARY: POSITION INFO: Fruitways, a leading agri-business in South Africa, specialises in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe. The company has an exciting career opportunity for a proactive and well-organized individual who will ensure the effective and efficient management of cold store operations and maintaining storage protocols. The successful candidate will be based in the Villiersdorp area and will report directly to the General Manager. Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage cold store operations to maintain accurate inventory control (receiving, storage and dispatch of bulk bins) Ensure all fruit is handled and stored in accordance with provided RA and CA storage protocols Oversee preventative maintenance programs for refrigeration equipment and cold store facilities Monitor cold store performance, investigate any deviations and escalate issues to QA and Engineering as required Lead and develop the cold store team Ensure correct working methods and procedures are adhered to with regards to personnel safety and food safety (OHS & BRC) Requirements: Grade 12 / NQF4 required, while a relevant refrigeration certificate will be preferred 5-8 years’ experience in cold store operations and/or a refrigeration environment Understanding of CA management within the pome industry Excellent communication skills Good judgement and decision-making ability Driver’s licence and own transport The company offers market related remuneration and benefits, based on the successful applicant’s experience and qualifications.
