Position Overview

We are seeking a Collaborating Physician to provide clinical collaboration and medical oversight for an experienced Nurse Practitioner providing healthcare services within a correctional facility in Seminole County, Georgia.

This is an excellent opportunity for a physician seeking a flexible, part-time collaboration role without the commitment of a traditional full-time clinical position.

The collaborating physician will work closely with the Nurse Practitioner to support safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered medical care for the incarcerated population.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the collaborating physician for the Nurse Practitioner providing medical care within the correctional facility.

• Provide clinical consultation and support for patient diagnosis, treatment, and medication management.

• Be available for consultation regarding complex, urgent, or medically significant patient cases.

• Collaborate with the NP regarding treatment plans, referrals, diagnostic testing, and changes in clinical status.

• Participate in periodic chart review and quality assurance activities as required.

• Provide guidance regarding appropriate medical management and evidence-based standards of care.

• Assist with development and review of clinical protocols and treatment guidelines.

• Maintain appropriate communication with the Nurse Practitioner regarding patient care.

• Support compliance with applicable Georgia laws, regulations, correctional healthcare standards, and professional practice requirements.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Georgia medical license.

• Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or another appropriate specialty.

• DEA registration preferred.

• Previous experience in correctional healthcare, primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, or another outpatient setting preferred.

• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.

• Comfortable collaborating with an experienced Nurse Practitioner.

• Ability to provide timely clinical consultation when needed.

• Professional and dependable approach to physician-NP collaboration.

Compensation & Schedule

• Flexible, part-time collaborative position

• Compensation is negotiable based on experience and scope of collaboration

• No routine full-time onsite clinical schedule required

• Physician availability and chart review requirements will be established as part of the collaborative agreement.
