Collection Officer

• • Review Account Ledgers: Monitor debtors' lists, aging accounts, and financial databases to spot overdue bills (e.g., 30, 60, or 90+ days past due). • Contact Debtors: Reach out to clients or borrowers via phone, email, mail, or direct visits to discuss missed payments. • Negotiate Repayment: Establish workable payment plans, partial settlements, or installment arrangements based on the debtor's financial situation. • Update Records: Log all communications, transaction histories, and cleared balances accurately in the company's ledger or collection software. • Resolve Disputes: Investigate billing errors, answer customer inquiries, and coordinate with internal sales or accounting teams. • Escalate Actions: Issue final notice warnings, coordinate with legal counsel or insurance agencies, or initiate legal/repossession proceedings when accounts remain unpaid. • Ensure Compliance: Adhere strictly to local, state, and federal debt collection laws and company privacy policies.
