Versa Innovations Corp. is looking for a Collection Specialist to join our Billing & Collections Team.

We’re looking for someone confident talking to clients, proactive with follow-ups, persistent in getting results, and professional even when handling difficult payment conversations.

This is not a purely administrative collections role. You’ll work directly with clients, Sales, Customer Care, Treasury, and Finance to prevent overdue accounts, recover failed payments, and help keep good client relationships.

What You’ll Do

• Contact clients before and after invoice due dates to confirm payment status and address payment concerns.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with client AP and Finance teams.
• Follow up on overdue accounts and execute the company's dunning process.
• Recover failed payments, bounced checks, and other unsuccessful payment transactions.
• Monitor high-value and at-risk accounts and take action before accounts become delinquent or subscriptions are suspended.
• Coordinate with Sales and Customer Care to resolve billing concerns, objections, and disputes affecting payment.
• Negotiate payment arrangements when necessary and monitor compliance with agreed payment dates.
• Escalate high-risk or non-responsive accounts when appropriate.
• Work with Customer Success on retention strategies for accounts at risk of churn due to payment issues.
• Maintain complete and accurate collection records in Odoo.
• Prepare weekly At-Risk Accounts Reports for management and relevant teams.
• Provide feedback on recurring billing or payment issues.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Billing & Collections Manager or Senior Management.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Behavioral Science, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in collections, preferably handling subscription, recurring billing, or B2B accounts.
• Experience with ERP, CRM, or payment processing systems; Odoo experience is an advantage.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable making calls and having direct conversations about outstanding payments.
• Strong follow-through and persistence in handling multiple accounts.
• Able to prioritize accounts based on payment risk and urgency.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Professional, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential financial information.
• Customer service, account management, or retention experience is a plus.
