Collections Agent

Duties

• Contact customers via phone, email, or written correspondence to follow up on overdue payments
• Negotiate payment plans and settlement agreements that align with company policies and customer circumstances
• Review account details, perform account analysis, and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accuracy
• Maintain detailed records of all collection activities using accounting software and data entry tools
• Collaborate with accounts receivable and accounts payable teams to resolve billing issues and improve cash flow
• Conduct account analysis to identify delinquent accounts and prioritize collection efforts
• Prepare reports on collection progress, outstanding balances, and account statuses for management review

Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes
• Proficiency in accounting software and data entry systems for accurate record keeping
• Excellent phone etiquette combined with effective negotiation skills to handle sensitive conversations professionally
• Exceptional customer service skills to foster positive interactions with clients while pursuing collections
• Analytical mindset with the ability to perform account reconciliation and detailed account analysis
• Strong math skills for calculating payments, interest, or settlement figures accurately

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
