Are you a strategic leader who understands that successful collections is about more than recovering dollars? Do you have a passion for balancing operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and member-focused solutions? First Commerce Credit Union is seeking an experienced and results-driven Collections Manager to lead our Collections team and help strengthen the financial well-being of our members while supporting the credit union's continued growth.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing collections team focused on delivering exceptional member service while reducing delinquency and losses.
  • Direct all collection operations, including account extensions, modifications, repossessions, foreclosures, bankruptcies, loss mitigation, and recovery efforts.
  • Develop and execute collection strategies that drive portfolio performance while preserving valuable member relationships.
  • Analyze department performance, delinquency trends, and loss metrics to identify opportunities and improve results.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, NCUA guidelines, bankruptcy laws, and FCCU policies.
  • Partner with Lending, Finance, Member Service, and executive leadership to achieve organizational goals.
  • Manage third-party collection agencies, legal partners, and service providers to maximize effectiveness and recovery outcomes.
  • Resolve complex member situations and operational challenges with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Prepare and present performance reports, recommendations, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and service excellence.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible collections or default management experience.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience managing teams and driving performance.
  • Experience with secured and unsecured consumer lending collections; real estate and commercial loan collections experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of collections regulations, bankruptcy processes, loss mitigation strategies, and recovery practices.
  • Proven ability to analyze financial and operational data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
