About the role

Smart Start Interlocks is seeking a full time Collections Officer to join our team in Heidelberg West. As a Collections Officer, you will be responsible for contacting customers, negotiating payment plans, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding interlocks.

What you'll be doing

• Proactively reach out to customers with overdue accounts
• Negotiate and collect payment arrangements
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customer interactions and payment plans
• Engage our network & 3rd parties to remove interlocks
• Provide regular reports on the status of outstanding accounts and collection efforts
• Maintain a professional and empathetic approach when dealing with customers
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the collections function

What we're looking for

• Experience in a collections role preferred
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail
• Resilient and persistent, with the ability to work under pressure
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
