About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Collector to join PTC Commercial Corporation in Mandaue City, Cebu. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our pathology services division, ensuring the efficient collection and proper handling of diagnostic specimens. As a Collector, you will be at the frontline of our operations, directly contributing to the quality of diagnostic services we provide to our patients and healthcare partners. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence will be essential in maintaining the integrity of specimens and supporting our laboratory's reputation for reliable results.

What you'll be doing

• Collecting blood samples, tissue specimens, and other diagnostic materials from patients following established protocols and standard operating procedures
• Labelling, documenting, and maintaining accurate records of all collected specimens with precise patient information and collection details
• Preparing specimens for transport to the laboratory whilst ensuring proper storage conditions and chain of custody procedures
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic collection environment, adhering to infection control and biosafety standards
• Operating and maintaining specimen collection equipment and ensuring proper sterilisation of instruments
• Assisting patients with pre-collection instructions and providing a professional and reassuring experience during the collection process
• Processing specimen requests and coordinating with the laboratory team to ensure timely analysis
• Monitoring and reporting any specimen abnormalities or complications to supervising staff
• Maintaining compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, quality standards, and company policies

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification; completion of a phlebotomy or specimen collection certification programme is highly desirable
• Proven experience in specimen collection, phlebotomy, or a related clinical support role within a pathology laboratory or healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of proper specimen collection techniques, handling procedures, and laboratory safety protocols
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately complete documentation and maintain meticulous records
• Professional communication skills and the ability to interact compassionately with patients from diverse backgrounds
• Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, including standing for extended periods and handling laboratory materials
• Reliability, punctuality, and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and basic computer literacy
• Certification in First Aid or CPR is advantageous
