About the role

Southern Arms Corporation is seeking an experienced Collector to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position based in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental. As a Collector, you will play a crucial role in our operations by managing receivables, ensuring timely payment collection, and supporting the financial health of the organisation. This position is essential to maintaining our cash flow and supporting our strategic objectives in management and change consulting services.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and contact clients with outstanding invoices to arrange payment
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements with delinquent accounts
• Maintain detailed records of all collection activities and payment transactions
• Monitor accounts receivable ageing and prioritise collection efforts accordingly
• Prepare collection reports and provide regular updates on receivables status
• Work collaboratively with finance and sales teams to resolve billing disputes
• Follow up on overdue payments through phone calls, emails and written correspondence
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in collection practices
• Identify opportunities to improve collection processes and efficiency

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in a collections, finance or accounts receivable role
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts simultaneously
• Understanding of credit management and collection best practices
• Customer service mindset with the ability to maintain professional relationships
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities
