Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Colour Matcher for our plastic masterbatch manufacturing unit in Delhi. The ideal candidate should have 2–3 years of relevant experience in colour matching, pigment formulation, and quality control, preferably with specific experience in PET masterbatch and PET-based applications.

The candidate should be proficient in using a spectrophotometer for accurate shade measurement, colour matching, and quality consistency. The role requires strong technical knowledge of pigments, colour formulation, and troubleshooting to minimize production trials, reduce pigment wastage, and optimize formulation costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate colour matching and shade development for plastic masterbatch, particularly for PET applications.
• Operate a spectrophotometer to measure colour values and ensure accurate shade matching.
• Develop and optimize pigment formulations according to customer shade requirements and approved standards.
• Conduct laboratory trials and make necessary adjustments to achieve the desired colour.
• Maintain colour consistency across batches and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Identify and resolve colour variations, shade mismatches, and pigment dispersion issues.
• Reduce the number of colour-matching trials, pigment consumption, and formulation costs.
• Maintain records of pigment formulations, shade standards, trial results, and quality reports.
• Coordinate with production and quality control teams to ensure consistent output.
• Support new shade development and resolve customer-related colour quality issues.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in colour matching within the plastic masterbatch, plastics, or pigment formulation industry.
• Practical experience with PET masterbatch and PET colour applications is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience using a spectrophotometer for colour measurement and shade matching.
• Good knowledge of pigments, colourants, pigment dispersion, and formulation techniques.
• Understanding of colour difference values such as Delta E (ΔE) and colour measurement parameters.
• Ability to independently develop shades, troubleshoot colour variations, and optimize formulations.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with practical experience in PET masterbatch manufacturing, accurate spectrophotometer-based colour matching, and cost-effective pigment formulation will be preferred.
