COMEX Accountant

WE’RE HIRING: COMEX ACCOUNTANT

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical COMEX Accountant (Commercial Expenditure Accountant) to join our Finance and Accounting team.

The role will primarily handle the monitoring, validation, recording, and analysis of the company’s commercial and operating expenditures, while supporting tax compliance, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate commercial and operating expenses, ensuring completeness of supporting documents and proper approvals.
• Monitor sales, marketing, promotional, representation, and other commercial expenditures.
• Ensure expenses are properly recorded and classified under the appropriate accounts and cost centers.
• Prepare and record expense accruals and adjusting entries.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor actual expenditures against approved budgets and prepare variance reports as required.
• Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Procurement, and other departments regarding expense documentation and outstanding items.
• Assist in processing and monitoring employee reimbursements and other business-related expenses.
• Assist with VAT, withholding taxes, and BIR compliance related to expenditures.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documents for internal and external audits.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist in preparing financial and management reports related to commercial expenditures.
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, Accounting Technology, or a related field.
• Preferably with 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in expense accounting, general accounting, accounts payable, or tax accounting is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of Philippine taxation, VAT, withholding taxes, and BIR requirements is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to organize supporting documents and manage deadlines effectively.
• Good communication skills and able to coordinate with different departments.
• CPA license is an advantage but not required.
• Willing to learn and develop broader experience in commercial expenditure and general accounting.
