Commercial Analyst

About the role

This is a newly shaped role supporting the commercial side of project delivery. Reporting to the Commercial Project Controller, and providing support to the CEO and Commercial Manager, you'll help turn project cost, budget and production data into clear, accurate information that helps the business make good commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting with monitoring and reconciling project costs against budgets
• Supporting the preparation of progress claims and CERT documentation
• Helping prepare cost-to-complete and estimated final cost forecasts
• Collating, analysing and presenting project commercial data to support decision-making
• Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of commercial data in Workbench
• Checking subcontractor and supplier invoices against purchase orders and budgets
• Helping prepare commercial reports and summaries

About you

• A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline

• Around 2–4 years' experience in a commercial, finance, cost control or data analysis role

• Advanced Excel skills and a genuine aptitude for working with data

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines

• A tech-savvy, curious mindset — comfortable adopting new tools, including AI, to work more efficiently

• Experience in construction, infrastructure or earthworks advantageous

• Experience with Workbench or similar project/finance systems advantageous
