Commercial Analyst - Fixed Term

We’re looking for a commercially minded Commercial Analyst to join the Commercial Finance team on a 6 month fixed-term basis.

You will be working closely with senior commercial finance professionals and commercial managers across the business. This is an opportunity to get close to the numbers, understand what drives business performance and provide analysis that helps shape commercial decisions across a nationwide branch network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial reporting and analyse sales, margins, expenses and key performance indicators.
• Develop dashboards and turn business intelligence into clear, actionable insights.
• Monitor promotional effectiveness, business initiatives, incentives and customer rebates.
• Support monthly forecasting, branch improvement plans and annual business planning.
• Analyse trading performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
• Partner with commercial and operational stakeholders to explain results and support better decision-making.
• Deliver ad hoc financial and commercial analysis as business needs arise.

The ideal candidate will be analytical, commercially curious and confident working with financial data. 

The ideal candidate will also bring:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office capability.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accurate reporting.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with a range of stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
• Power BI experience would be advantageous, particularly in developing dashboards and presenting meaningful business insights.
