Job Summary

A Commercial Auto Insurance Billing and Coverage Data Entry specialist is responsible for accurately inputting, updating, and managing policyholder information, vehicle data, and financial records within company databases. This role ensures that insurance coverage, premium calculations, and billing statements are precise, compliant with regulations, and processed in a timely manner.

Core Responsibilities

• Data Entry & Policy Processing: Input new commercial auto policy changes into carrier systems.
• Coverage Verification: Review source documents to ensure vehicle and coverage details ( limits, deductibles) are accurately reflected.
• Billing & Accounting: Generate invoices, process endorsements affecting premiums, and reconcile billing discrepancies.
• Accuracy Checks: Verify that data entered matches applications, identify discrepancies, and proactively resolve issues with agents or insured parties.
• Compliance: Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with company policies and legal regulations.

Required Skills

• Experience: Previous experience in insurance data entry, billing, or claims processing is highly preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in MS Office (specifically Excel) and experience with insurance policy management systems and accounting systems
• Attention to Detail: High level of precision in high-volume, fast-paced environments to prevent costly errors.
• Mathematical Aptitude: Ability to calculate premiums, refunds, and adjustments accurately.
• Communication: Effective written and verbal skills for corresponding with agents and internal teams regarding policy or billing status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in business or finance is a plus.
• Ability to type quickly and accurately (often 45-50+ WPM).
• Familiarity with commercial lines insurance and terminology.
