Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of commercial spaces including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals
• Handle chemical agents safely by following all chemical handling safety procedures and protocols
• Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment to maintain floors in excellent condition
• Conduct sanitation procedures to ensure hygiene standards are met or exceeded in all areas
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks while adhering to safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or cleaning materials
• Maintain cleanliness of cleaning tools and supplies, ensuring proper storage and inventory management
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial work with a strong understanding of janitorial processes
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing floors
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely while understanding chemical agent handling procedures
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning methods and equipment such as floor buffers and industrial vacuums
• Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with clients or building occupants when needed
• Experience with facilities maintenance tasks beyond cleaning, such as minor repairs or painting is a plus
• Strong awareness of safety practices related to custodial work including heavy lifting, manual handling, and chemical safety procedures
