Commercial Door & Security Technician

At FlyLock Security Solutions MetroWest MA, no two days are the same.

One day you're repairing a commercial door that won't close properly. The next you're installing an automatic door operator, troubleshooting an access control system, or helping a local business improve its physical security.

We work with commercial clients throughout Worcester County and Hopkinton, providing everything from traditional locksmithing and mechanical door hardware to modern electronic security solutions.

We're looking for a mechanically inclined, dependable technician who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and taking pride in doing the job right.

You don't need to know everything we do. We're willing to train the right person.

What You'll Be Doing

• Installing, repairing, and servicing commercial doors, frames, hinges, closers, locks, and exit devices
• Working with automatic door operators and ADA-related door hardware
• Installing and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic locking systems
• Working with access control, CCTV, intercoms, and other physical security technologies
• Diagnosing problems and identifying solutions rather than simply replacing parts
• Communicating professionally with customers and documenting completed work
• Managing your daily field assignments and taking ownership of your work
• Participating in a rotating on-call schedule for emergency service

Who We're Looking For

You might already be an experienced locksmith or security technician.

Or you might come from commercial door installation, electrical work, low-voltage systems, carpentry, building maintenance, or another mechanical trade.

What matters most is your ability and willingness to learn.

Our ideal candidate:

• Enjoys working with their hands and figuring out how things work
• Has strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Takes pride in quality workmanship
• Can work independently without constant supervision
• Is dependable, organized, and professional with customers
• Is comfortable using hand and power tools
• Has a valid driver's license and can meet company driving requirements
• Is willing to learn new skills and technologies

Compensation

Compensation depends on experience and relevant skills.

• Apprentice / Entry-Level: $18–$24 per hour
• Experienced Tradesperson Transitioning Into Security: $25–$32 per hour
• Experienced Low-Voltage / Security Technician: $30–$38 per hour
• Highly Experienced / Licensed Security Technician: $35–$50 per hour

We'll evaluate candidates based on their existing skills, mechanical ability, experience, and ability to grow into the role.
