Commercial Electrical Project Manager

As the Commercial Electrical Project Manager, you will put your expertise to its best use while leading and developing a team. Your work will have a direct impact on the success of the company, the growth of the commercial division, and the development of your team.

The ideal candidate is someone who can oversee and coordinate electrical projects within commercial settings, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and within budget. This role involves managing project timelines, coordinating with clients and subcontractors, and overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial buildings. The Project Manager works closely with the leadership team to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Coordination:

• Develop project plans, timelines, and schedules for electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in commercial buildings.

• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are understood and met.

• Conduct site assessments and surveys to determine project feasibility and requirements.

• Procure necessary materials, equipment, and resources for project execution.

• Team Management and Leadership:

• Supervise and provide leadership to electricians and other project team members.

• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project timelines and deadlines.

• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project objectives, expectations, and updates.

• Provide technical guidance and support to team members as needed.

• Perform annual evaluations of assigned personnel as directed

• Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.

• Conduct inspections and quality control checks to verify workmanship and compliance with project specifications.

• Implement corrective actions as necessary to address deviations from quality and safety standards.

• Maintain accurate project documentation, including permits, inspection reports, and change orders.

• Client Communication and Relationship Management:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.

• Communicate project progress, milestones, and any issues or concerns to clients in a timely manner.

• Address client inquiries, requests, and feedback professionally and promptly.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients to foster trust and satisfaction.

• Budgeting and Cost Management:

• Prepare project budgets and cost estimates based on labor, materials, and other project expenses.

• Monitor project expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies to optimize project profitability.

• Review and approve subcontractor invoices and expenses.

• Work closely with Billing Coordinator to send out invoices in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred, but not required
• Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification required
• Proven experience (5+ years) in commercial electrical project management, including planning, execution, and oversight
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations relevant to commercial construction
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Passion for learning and sharing knowledge with team members.
• Proficient in project management software and tools
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Operate with safety as a priority for self, team, and customer
• Strong values and character with a professional and positive mindset.
• Appreciation for the customer and passion for the company

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass a drug screen & background check
