Location: Santee, CA
Salary: $95,000 - $150,000 per year, DOE

Position Overview

The Commercial HVAC Special Projects Manager will be responsible for developing, estimating, selling, coordinating, and managing small-to-medium commercial HVAC projects. These projects are typically too large for our service department but do not require a full construction project management team.

Examples include:

• Rooftop unit replacements
• Split system replacements
• Ductwork modifications and redesigns
• Equipment upgrades
• Small plan-and-spec projects
• Comfort and airflow improvement projects
• Energy efficiency upgrades

This individual will manage projects from initial site walk through project completion while building strong relationships with existing service and maintenance customers.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to identify project opportunities and solutions
• Perform site surveys and gather field measurements
• Prepare estimates and proposals for commercial HVAC projects
• Review blueprints, plans, specifications, and project requirements
• Coordinate project schedules, manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
• Work closely with installation teams to ensure successful project execution
• Manage project budgets, job costing, and profitability
• Conduct project walkthroughs and maintain customer communication throughout the process
• Utilize CRM, estimating, and project management software effectively
• Identify opportunities to expand services within our existing customer base
• Help develop and grow the company's special projects division
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to company quality standards

QualificationsRequired

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience
• Proven experience estimating and managing HVAC replacement projects
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and applications
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
• Experience preparing project proposals and quotations
• Proficiency with CRM, estimating, and computer software platforms
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Preferred

• Experience managing installation crews
• Experience with light design-build projects
• Knowledge of duct design and airflow principles
• Experience with project scheduling and job costing
• Existing relationships within the commercial facilities industry

The right candidate will be equally comfortable in the field, in front of customers, and behind a computer preparing estimates and managing projects.
