Commercial Irrigation Technician – Landscape Maintenance

Sun State Nursery & Landscaping is a local, full-service landscape company with a crew of about 80 field employees. We maintain commercial properties including HOAs, office parks, retail centers, and multifamily communities. We're looking for a reliable Irrigation Tech to keep our clients' systems running right.

What You'll Do

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair commercial irrigation systems on a regular route of maintenance properties
• Diagnose and fix broken heads, lateral and mainline breaks, valves, and wiring problems
• Program, adjust, and troubleshoot controllers
• Do wet checks and irrigation audits, and write up findings and repair proposals for account managers
• Locate valves and wire faults with a wire tracer/locator
• Adjust watering schedules by season and follow local watering restrictions
• Keep accurate work orders, parts usage, and time records
• Maintain an assigned company truck, tools, and parts inventory
• Communicate clearly with property managers and maintenance crews

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of commercial or residential irrigation experience (we'll consider strong candidates with less)
• Solid troubleshooting skills with valves, controllers, and low-voltage wiring
• Able to read irrigation plans and as-builts
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
• Able to work outdoors in heat and all weather, lift up to 50 lbs, dig, kneel, and bend
• Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working a route independently
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Preferred

• Irrigation certification
• Backflow testing certification
• Experience with drip systems, pumps, and reclaimed water
