What they need

About Memora

Memora is building the operating system for one of the oldest and most overlooked categories on earth: the cemetery.

There are around 2,100 cemeteries in Denmark, each running on its own combination of systems, spreadsheets and institutional knowledge. Very little was built for this work, and little of it connects. We’re building one platform for administration, fieldwork and family access - designed with the cemeteries that went first.

We started on the family side, caring for gravesites for people who couldn’t get there themselves, and became Europe’s leading, award-winning platform for it. Everything we build for cemeteries today comes from what we learned there.

We’re backed by leading VC investors and built by an experienced team of founders and engineers. We’re deliberately lean, growing fast, and ready to build the commercial function that takes us to the next stage.

Why we’re hiring

Until now, our founders have led every commercial conversation and closed every customer. That has proven the proposition - and it’s now the ceiling on how fast we can grow in Denmark. We’re hiring our first senior commercial person to take us from founder-led sales to a repeatable commercial approach.

This is not traditional SaaS sales. The market is finite, known and built on relationships. Decisions involve multiple stakeholders, and trust matters as much as the product itself. The best conversations are rarely just about software, they’re about how these institutions evolve over the next twenty years.

Scope of the role

You'll report to and work closely with the CEO, with the mandate to lead the Danish market and build the commercial foundations we scale from.

  • Lead opportunities from first conversation through qualification, procurement, close and handover.
  • Build relationships across the sector - from gardeners and cemetery leaders to parish councils and deaneries - and turn successful customers into references, case studies and advocates.
  • Bring the profession together through experience groups, working sessions, dinners and industry events where customers can learn from each other and shape the product.
  • Turn what you learn in the field into clear input for product and engineering, and close the loop with customers.
  • Establish the commercial playbook (including pricing, pilots, pipeline discipline and forecasting) that future hires will inherit.

Who you are

Must have

  • You’re comfortable with cold outreach and have built your own pipeline without relying on SDRs, inbound or warm introductions.
  • You’ve personally closed complex deals from first conversation to signature, ideally with cautious buyers and multiple decision-makers.
  • You build credibility and trust quickly, including with senior stakeholders, and are comfortable operating as a peer rather than a supplier.
  • You’re comfortable working without a playbook: setting your own priorities, building the process as you go and being accountable for the result.
  • You speak fluent Danish. We work in English internally.

Even better if

  • You’ve sold into public institutions or another trust-dependent, complex sector.
  • You’ve navigated procurement, system migrations or replacing an incumbent solution.
  • You know the Danish Folkekirken, cemetery sector or its wider network.

This is a profile, not a checklist. Strong candidates will come from backgrounds we haven’t listed. We can teach the product and the sector. We’re looking for someone who already knows how to open doors, earn trust and close complex deals.

How we work

We’re building Memora to be the kind of company we’d want to work for ourselves: high trust, low bureaucracy and full of people who care deeply about doing great work.

We’re remote by design. We don’t track hours or expect people to be online all day, but we do expect ownership and clear communication. We believe great work and great lives aren’t in competition - families, school pickups and deep-focus afternoons are part of life, not inconveniences to work around.

We’re a small team, which means real autonomy and real influence. Engineers talk to customers, visit cemeteries and see first-hand how their work impacts real people. There are no layers of management and no “that’s someone else’s problem” mentality.

We’re low ego and high standards. We challenge ideas, admit mistakes and care more about getting to the right answer than being right.

And because we’re building a real team, not a collection of Slack profiles, we get together for an offsite every quarter somewhere in the world.

Compensation & benefits

  • Competitive senior salary + performance-based compensation
  • Meaningful equity. We’re early enough that this matters, and we want you for the full journey
  • Car, travel and event budget
  • Danish standard leave and benefits

Other offers great for you!
