Gourmaniais a proudly WA-owned company with 40+ years experience in food manufacturing and is a leading producer and distributor of premium food products. We offer an extensive range of component food products and ready-to-eat meals suitable for food service, food manufacturing, export, and retail applications across a customer base that is local, national and international.   Gourmania has a well-established relationship with the WA Government; being one of the largest contracted suppliers of pre-prepared food to WA public hospitals.

About the role

Reporting to the Directors, you will turn customer opportunities into profitable, launch-ready products. You will manage new product development from first idea to full-scale production, look after our key accounts, and make sure every new product is costed, compliant and handed over smoothly to the factory floor.

This is a hands-on role at the centre of the business. You will work closely with Product Development, Production, Quality, Procurement, Logistics, to get products to market on time and on margin.

What you'll do

• Lead NPD: manage projects from concept and kitchen trials through to commercial launch, including timelines, critical paths and customer deliverables.
• Manage key accounts: be the main contact for key customers, and run meetings, presentations and tastings.
• Drive the numbers: build accurate product costings, assess margins and viability, and recommend pricing.
• Launch well: oversee the handover of new products into Production and help troubleshoot until they run to standard.
• Protect quality: work with Quality Assurance to keep specifications, labelling and compliance records accurate.
• Lead the team: guide our Product Development Chefs and Food Technologists to deliver on development goals.
• Grow the range: help manage and grow our retail portfolio and bring forward new product and improvement ideas.
• Keep everyone aligned: work with Procurement and Logistics on ingredients and packaging, and keep customers and internal teams up to date.

About you

• Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, food retail or wholesale food.
• A chef qualification or culinary background is highly desirable.
• A solid understanding of product development, commercialisation and food manufacturing.
• Strong commercial and financial skills, including product costing and margin analysis.
• Proven ability to run several projects at once in a fast-paced environment.
• Confidence leading meetings with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Good knowledge of food safety, quality systems, supply chain and procurement.
• Strong Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel.
• A calm, collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
• ERP System experience is desirable.
