Commercial Roofing Estimator/Project Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Roofing Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. This pivotal role combines the expertise of accurate cost estimation with effective project management to deliver high-quality roofing solutions for commercial clients. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong negotiation skills, construction industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple projects from inception to completion. Your expertise will ensure projects are accurately bid, efficiently executed, and completed within budget and schedule, all while maintaining excellent client communication and fostering long-term relationships. Salaried plus bonus/commission.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate roofing project estimates by reviewing blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools.
• Analyze material requirements from blueprints and construction drawings to develop comprehensive cost estimates, including material costs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor quotes.
• Utilize construction management software like Bluebeam and other construction estimating tools to streamline project workflows and document management.
• Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable pricing and terms that align with project budgets.
• Manage project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenses, and implementing cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or safety standards.
• Review construction drawings thoroughly to interpret technical details, identify potential issues early, and ensure accurate estimation of materials and labor needs.
• Oversee project timelines by coordinating with field teams, ensuring timely procurement of materials, and managing project schedules using construction management software.
• Communicate effectively with clients to clarify project scope, provide updates, and address any concerns promptly.
• Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, contracts, and industry standards while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Lead project meetings to review progress, resolve issues swiftly, and keep all stakeholders informed of project status.

Experience

• Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial roofing or broader commercial construction industry.
• Strong background in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent platforms; proficiency in Bluebeam is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately for cost estimation purposes.
• Extensive knowledge of construction management software tools for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Hands-on experience with construction site activities including material takeoffs, site inspections, and safety compliance.
• Familiarity with contracts, project management principles, cost control techniques, and client communication strategies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
