What they need

Overview

We are looking for an organised, commercially minded and proactive person to join our sales team and play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running and growth of our sales function. You will take ownership of smaller quotations, renewals, orders, customer enquiries and CRM activity, while also helping to qualify leads, develop opportunities, support proposals and generate new business. This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to work closely with customers, suppliers, marketing and the wider sales team in a fast-moving IT environment.

About Us

We are an established Business-to-Business (B2B) Managed IT Services Provider (MSP) based in Essex, providing managed IT support and technology solutions to businesses across a range of industries. We work with organisations ranging from small businesses through to larger businesses with up to 500 users.

Our services cover a wide range of business technology, including Microsoft 365, Azure, cloud services, IT support, cybersecurity, hardware, software, backup and other IT solutions. We work closely with our customers to understand their businesses and provide reliable technology solutions that support their day-to-day operations and future growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day sales activity, including quotations, renewals, orders, deliveries and customer requests.
  • Prepare accurate quotations, manage follow-ups and progress accepted quotes through to order.
  • Respond to, qualify and nurture incoming leads, passing higher-value opportunities to the senior sales team.
  • Carry out agreed outbound customer outreach to generate new sales opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of larger proposals by developing customer-facing content and gathering pricing and technical information.
  • Work with the Marketing Team and senior management on targeted lead-generation campaigns.
  • Manage software, licensing and service renewals, ensuring these are identified and actioned in good time.
  • Review active sales opportunities and ensure follow-ups, outstanding actions and next steps are kept up to date.
  • Maintain accurate customer, contact and opportunity information within the CRM.
  • Maintain and update customer product and service information within the company Stack Sheet.
  • Provide after-sales support and ensure customer queries are dealt with promptly.
  • Monitor the sales mailbox and act as a first point of contact for sales enquiries and calls.
  • Build friendly, professional working relationships with suppliers and technology partners, handling day-to-day enquiries, pricing, orders, deliveries and renewals.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales-related stock and monitor stock levels.
  • Produce and maintain sales KPI reports, highlighting shortfalls, overdue activity and areas requiring attention.
  • Develop a strong understanding of our products and services and identify opportunities for additional sales, upgrades and services.
  • Handle customer, supplier and company information responsibly and maintain appropriate confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a sales, sales administration, customer service or commercially focused role.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues by telephone, email and in person.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft 365 and business software.
  • A good general knowledge of IT services and technology, with an understanding of areas such as Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Servers, PCs and other common business IT solutions. This is desirable rather than essential, but an interest in technology and willingness to develop your technical knowledge is important.
  • Experience using a CRM system is desirable;
  • Comfortable working with quotations, pricing, orders and commercial information.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and keep on top of follow-ups.
  • Proactive approach with the confidence to identify opportunities and take action without always being asked.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in developing your understanding of technology and IT services.
  • Previous experience within an IT, technology, telecoms or managed service environment would be beneficial but is not essential.

About the Role

This is a varied position with plenty of opportunity to develop. You will be involved in a wide range of sales activity, from handling smaller customer requirements and renewals through to supporting larger proposals and new business opportunities. You'll work closely with experienced members of the sales team, marketing, suppliers and customers, giving you the opportunity to build your commercial knowledge and take ownership of your own areas of responsibility.

This is not a traditional telesales role. While the position will involve speaking with customers, following up opportunities and carrying out some targeted outreach, the role is primarily focused on supporting and developing the wider sales function. You will not be working towards a commission-based sales target. Instead, you'll have a varied workload covering quotations, renewals, customer support, lead qualification, CRM, supplier coordination, proposals and general sales operations, with opportunities to contribute directly to new business and account growth.

Please note: Offsite Cloud is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom without requiring sponsorship.
