Commercial Service Technician

Job Summary

In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing, all sizes and types of refrigeration units, HVAV (Heating and air conditioning equipment) and kitchen cooking equipment. Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, service, and repair of refrigeration equipment, HVAC systems, and ovens and cooking equipment. Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics and mechanical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and testing tools such as ohmmeters.
• Conduct equipment troubleshooting to identify faults in HVAC/R (Refrigeration) systems and mechanical components.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems within HVAC equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards such as EPA certifications.
• Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to perform system repairs, replacements, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining system issues clearly and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Assist with HVAC system installation projects by preparing work sites, installing components, and testing system functionality.
• Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed for accountability and future reference.
• Drive company van safely to various job sites while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a service technician in related mechanical fields; construction experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning, refrigeration units, electrical systems, and mechanical systems repair.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals accurately.
• Proficiency with electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters; experience with electrical troubleshooting is essential.
• Mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R equipment repair and maintenance procedures.
• Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC/R or electrical diagnostics are preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
• Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; familiarity with mechanical systems repair is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive a company van safely at all times.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy equipment or parts; comfortable working in confined spaces or elevated locations.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
