Commercial Door Service & Installation Lead Technician

$30–$45 per hour, based on experience

Overhead Doors and Fireside Experts is hiring an experienced Commercial Door Service & Installation Lead Technician. We’re looking for a dependable professional who can lead work in the field, troubleshoot problems independently, and deliver quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

Commercial door service and installation experience is required. Experience with commercial gates, gate operators, dock levelers, and welding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial door service, repair, maintenance, and installation jobs.
• Guide and assist technicians and helpers to complete work safely and efficiently.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with commercial doors and operators.
• Service commercial gates, gate operators, dock levelers, and loading dock equipment, as qualified.
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs, as qualified and needed.
• Follow manufacturer procedures and company safety practices.
• Coordinate with the office regarding job progress, material needs, and follow-up work.
• Communicate professionally with customers about findings, completed work, and recommended repairs.
• Accurately document labor, materials used, service notes, and job photos.
• Travel to customer locations in a company-provided service truck.
• Keep company tools, equipment, and the service vehicle clean, organized, and maintained.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience servicing, repairing, and installing commercial doors.
• Ability to lead jobs, direct helpers, and maintain quality workmanship.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned service calls.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Dependable attendance and a professional work ethic.
• Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including safely lifting and handling commercial equipment.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous lead technician or crew leadership experience.
• Commercial gate and gate operator service experience.
• Dock leveler and loading dock equipment repair experience.
• Welding and metal fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of commercial door hardware, operators, and related components.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience.
