Job Summary

Kaya Gantavya Resorts & Spa is looking for a skilled and dedicated Commi I (Commis 1) to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have good culinary skills, knowledge of food preparation, and the ability to maintain quality, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to the chef's instructions and standard recipes.
• Assist in daily kitchen operations and ensure timely food preparation.
• Maintain proper mise en place before service.
• Ensure consistency in food taste, quality, portion size, and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food ingredients.
• Monitor ingredient usage and minimize food wastage.
• Follow food safety standards and kitchen SOPs.
• Coordinate with the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff.
• Assist senior chefs with menu preparation and other kitchen duties as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or restaurant kitchen is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation.
• Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
