Commi Chef

Role Overview: Support the kitchen team in food preparation, mise en place, and maintaining cleanliness while learning and following the restaurant’s culinary standards and operating procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assist senior chefs with daily food preparation and mise en place.
• Wash, peel, cut, chop, and portion vegetables, herbs, and other ingredients as instructed.
• Assist in preparing sauces, dressings, stocks, marinades, and other basic components.
• Follow recipes, instructions, portion specifications, and plating guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Follow food safety, personal hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Store ingredients correctly, label products, and follow FIFO procedures.
• Assist with receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies when required.
• Support the kitchen team during peak service hours to ensure timely food preparation.
• Learn kitchen techniques, menu specifications, and operational standards from senior chefs.
• Help minimize food wastage and use ingredients responsibly.
• Report equipment issues, stock shortages, or food quality concerns to the senior chef.
