About the role

A kitchen support role in a commercial kitchen environment, responsible for food preparation, cooking support, stock management, and maintaining hygiene and safety standards while supporting the broader kitchen team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily mise en place including chopping, peeling, weighing, and measuring ingredients following exact recipes and standards
• Operate kitchen equipment like ovens, grills, and stoves to cook and plate dishes during busy service hours
• Check food stock, label and date items, and use the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method to reduce waste
• Clean and sanitize work areas, tools, and equipment according to food safety and hygiene rules
• Support other kitchen staff and lead the station if senior chefs are absent

About you

• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably within a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment
• A diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field is highly preferred
• Strong knife skills and a solid grasp of foundational cooking techniques (sautéing, roasting, poaching, grilling)
• Clear verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively with a diverse kitchen team
• Ability to stand for long periods, work in high-temperature environments, and lift heavy kitchen inventory
• Willingness to work in shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays
