Commis 1 - Cold Kitchen

TANSŌ – Modern Japanese Restaurant is looking for an experienced Commis 1 – Cold Kitchen to join our kitchen team.

We are seeking a skilled and reliable kitchen professional with at least 5 years of experience in a standalone restaurant, preferably within Japanese, modern, upscale, or fine-dining environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cold kitchen dishes, appetizers, salads, sauces, and other assigned preparations according to recipes and standards.
• Assist with daily mise en place and ensure all ingredients are properly prepared and stored.
• Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, portioning, and quality.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling, storage, and rotation of food products.
• Keep the workstation clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service.
• Support the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen team with daily kitchen operations.
• Minimize food waste through proper preparation and handling.
• Maintain a professional and organized working environment during service.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of kitchen experience in a standalone restaurant.
• Previous experience in Cold Kitchen / Garde Manger is required.
• Experience in Japanese cuisine or a modern/upscale restaurant is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and kitchen safety.
• Able to follow recipes, specifications, and presentation standards.
• Good knife skills and understanding of basic kitchen techniques.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Team player with a positive and professional attitude.
• Available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Pay: AED1,633.49 - AED3,500.00 per month
