COMMIS 1 - HOT

Position Summary

The Commis 1 – Hot Kitchen assists in the preparation and cooking of hot food items, ensuring proper quality, portioning, and timely food production in accordance with hotel standards and under the direction of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.

• Assists in the preparation and cooking of hot food items according to approved recipes and hotel standards.
• Completes assigned mise en place and ensures ingredients, utensils, and equipment are ready for service.
• Assists in the preparation and service of hot dishes during regular and function operations.
• Follows proper portioning, presentation, and quality standards for all prepared food.
• Follows instructions from the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or assigned kitchen supervisor during food production.
• Maintains cleanliness, orderliness, and sanitation of the assigned workstation and kitchen equipment.
• Follows proper food handling, storage, and food safety practices.
• Uses ingredients and kitchen supplies properly to minimize food wastage.
• Assists in the proper storage, labeling, and handling of food and ingredients.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Education Requirement

College Degree; Culinary Arts

Experience Required

At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a hotel or hot kitchen.
