What they need
- Prepare and cook food items in accordance with established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring items needed for cooking
- Support senior chefs and the kitchen team in all aspects of food preparation and cooking throughout service
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of assigned workstations and kitchen equipment
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure all food meets health and safety standards
- Monitor and rotate stock in accordance with first-in, first-out (FIFO) principles
- Assist in plating and presenting dishes according to menu specifications
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Support the development of new menu items under the guidance of senior chefs
- Undertake additional kitchen duties as assigned by senior chefs or management
