About the role
A Commis Chef assists with daily food preparation and cooking in a professional kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with daily food preparation and cooking
- Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meat, seafood and sauces
- Follow recipes and instructions from the Sous Chef
- Assist in food plating and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and workstation
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food ingredients
- Assist with washing, cleaning and general kitchen duties
- Support the kitchen team during busy operating hours
- Perform other duties assigned by the Chef
About you
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
- Willing to learn and work as part of a team
- Responsible, hardworking and punctual
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
