About the role
This is a kitchen support position assisting with daily food preparation and cooking under the direction of the Chef/Sous Chef.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with daily food preparation and cooking
- Prepare ingredients including cutting, portioning, marinating, and basic cooking
- Follow recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
- Support the Chef/Sous Chef during service and production
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and workstations
- Ensure food is stored, labelled, and handled properly
- Check stock levels and inform supervisors when ingredients are running low
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and company SOPs
- Assist with packing and preparation for catering, events, or deliveries when required
About you
- Basic kitchen or cooking experience preferred
- Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Willing to learn and follow instructions
- Good hygiene and teamwork
- Able to stand for long hours and handle physical kitchen work
- Willing to work weekends and public holidays based on operational requirements
