Commis Chef

About the role

PT Thunder Skirt is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our kitchen team in Bali. This is a full-time position based at our establishment, offering an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a dynamic hospitality environment. As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations, working alongside experienced chefs to prepare high-quality dishes and maintain the standards that our guests expect. Key responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking food items according to standardised recipes and presentation requirements
• Assisting senior chefs with the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of your workstation and kitchen equipment
• Following all food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure the highest standards of food quality and safety
• Supporting the kitchen team during service to ensure timely and accurate dish preparation
• Contributing to stock rotation and inventory management as directed
• Assisting with sandwich preparation and plating to meet customer expectations
• Taking direction from senior kitchen staff and responding positively to feedback
• Helping to maintain kitchen cleanliness and performing general kitchen duties as required

What we're looking for

• Formal culinary training or relevant qualification in food preparation and cookery
• Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and kitchen best practices
• A willingness to learn and develop your culinary skills under supervision
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Reliability and a positive attitude towards work
• Experience in sandwich preparation or kitchen preparation is advantageous
• Flexibility with working hours, including potential evening and weekend shifts
