Commis Chef

Job Summary

The Frame is looking for a motivated and hardworking Commis Chef to join the kitchen team. The successful candidate will support senior chefs with food preparation, cooking, kitchen organisation, and cleaning while developing their culinary skills in a professional restaurant environment.

Job Description

• Assist senior chefs with daily food preparation and cooking duties.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning.
• Complete mise en place according to kitchen requirements.
• Follow recipes, preparation methods, and presentation standards.
• Assist with plating and presenting dishes during service.
• Maintain clean, organised, and hygienic workstations.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety, and kitchen procedures.
• Assist with stock rotation, storage, and minimising food waste.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Assist with opening, closing, and general kitchen duties.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Good attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Able to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.

Pay: £14.00-£27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.0 per week
