Job Summary

The Commis Chef supports the kitchen team in the preparation and cooking of menu items. This role is responsible for ensuring ingredients are properly prepared, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards, and assisting senior chefs in delivering quality dishes efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, measuring, and portioning.
• Assist in cooking and plating dishes according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Properly store food items and monitor stock rotation using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
• Monitor food quality and report any issues to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
• Minimize food waste and use ingredients efficiently.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or vocational certificate in Culinary Arts is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred but not always required.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation practices.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.

Pay: Php19,000.00 - Php20,000.00 per month
