An exciting new hospitality venture is coming to the heart of the Cotswolds, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic Commis Chef / Kitchen Porter to join our team from the very beginning.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to start or develop a career in a professional kitchen, working with fresh ingredients and learning from an experienced kitchen team.

We’re creating something new — built around great food, quality local produce and genuinely good hospitality, with high standards but a friendly, supportive approach.

The Role

This will be a varied role combining kitchen porter responsibilities with the opportunity to develop your skills as a chef.

You’ll play an important part in keeping the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly, while gradually becoming involved in food preparation and learning different areas of the kitchen.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Keeping kitchen and wash-up areas clean, organised and well maintained
• Washing crockery, cookware and kitchen equipment
• Supporting the chefs with basic food preparation
• Learning preparation and cooking techniques from the kitchen team
• Helping with deliveries and correctly storing ingredients
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Assisting with prep before service
• Supporting the kitchen team during busy services
• Helping minimise food waste
• Taking on more kitchen responsibilities as your skills and confidence develop

Who We’re Looking For

Previous kitchen experience isn’t essential.

We’re much more interested in finding someone with a great attitude who is reliable, hardworking and genuinely interested in food.

This could be an ideal opportunity if you’re looking for your first role in a professional kitchen, or if you’re currently working as a Kitchen Porter and would like the opportunity to progress into a chef position.

You’ll need to be happy working as part of a team, willing to get stuck in and able to maintain high standards even when things get busy.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who wants to learn and develop.

For the right person, we’ll actively help you develop your kitchen skills — from basic preparation and knife skills through to working on sections and becoming increasingly involved in service.

Full-time position Competitive hourly rate dependent on experience Moreton-in-Marsh, Cotswolds Opening Autumn 2026
